John Bovee, M.A. Adjunct Professor of Political Science

John Bovee brings over four decades of hands-on political experience to the classroom at Woodland Community College, where he teaches Introduction to American Government. His extensive career spans local, state, and national politics, including serving as Chief of Staff for three California legislators and founding a successful political consulting firm.

Education:

  • M.A., Liberal Studies (Political Science concentration), Rutgers University, 2017

Professional Experience:

  • Political Consultant, local, state, and federal races (23 years)

Research: His master's dissertation, "The Unintended Consequences of Direct Democracy in California," received Capstone with Honors distinction and has garnered over 800 downloads, establishing him as a respected voice in California political analysis.
