Heather Graham is a passionate adjunct English professor and supportive colleague who has dedicated her career to helping students grow as readers, writers, and thinkers. She holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in English from California State University, Sacramento, and studied French language and culture at the Sorbonne in Paris. One of her most cherished educational experiences was studying Spanish as a foreign language student in San Luis Potosí, Mexico—an experience that continues to inform the way she approaches teaching with empathy, patience, and cultural awareness.
Since 2012, Professor Graham has taught a wide variety of English courses—including composition, literature, and American ethnic voices—at several colleges near Sacramento, California. In addition to her work in the classroom, she has traveled to six continents, including Antarctica. She promotes and practices travel as a powerful tool for personal, intellectual, and spiritual growth, often drawing on her global experiences to enrich her teaching and connect more deeply with students.
Beyond teaching, she actively contributes to college life through committee work, professional development, and a strong commitment to accessible and inclusive education. She accepted the position of Grievance Chair Officer for the YC-AFT in 2025.
