Donyale Miller

I am Donyale Miller. I am 53 years old, married with four children, ages 33, 32, 29, and 17.  I also have six grandchildren ages 14, 10, 8, 7, 6, and 4 year old. I have 32 years of experience working with children and families in our community. I have worked for 18 plus years as a preschool teacher in Head Start. I have been a Head Teacher, Center Education Supervisor, and Education Coordinator with Head Start as well. During my time as a teacher, I worked in an inclusive classroom at Butte Vista for 5 years. I have been a program specialist for a school readiness program called "FLIP" at the Playzeum which is a local children's  play museum. I also have worked for Yuba County Office of Education at the Child Care Planning Council as a quality improvement specialist where I coached and support a variety of early learning programs in Yuba and Sutter counties. I have also worked in Colusa County Office Of Education- Children's Services as a Education Division Manager. I also have been the Director of Child Development at Union Hill School District in Bearcat Discovery Center in which I supported preschool, TK, ELOP, and Before and After School Age care.

I love to make an impact in our community and share my passion for ECE. I hope that you get alot out of this course as we get to know each other and learn more about children with special needs.

I have three times of office hours by zoom each week, which the information is located on the syllabus of each course that I teach. I encourage students to reach out when questions or barriers arise through my Canvas email and expect a response within 24 hours (Monday-Thursday).
