Hello, Eagles! My name is Carola Valdes (pronounced like Care-a-la; think of it like “she cares!”). I have been teaching here at WCC since 2008. I studied English at Chico State and UC Davis, where I learned quickly how much I loved reading and writing. Thus, becoming a teacher of reading and writing was a natural fit for me! I love to travel, and when I’m not traveling, I’m usually online planning a future trip. I also love to read, bake, and spend time with my three daughters. I love teaching writing because I get to find out about you, and about what makes you special. I encourage you to bring your unique perspective and opinions into the classroom, and I love helping you shape those ideas into powerful arguments.
