My office is 939, located in the newer 900's Art's building on the WCC campus. 

I teach American Popular Music, World Music, Classical and Jazz Music Appreciation. Additionally, I teach the Piano courses and Symphonic Band. 

My goal is to help students understand the elements of music, the human intention of music making and music consumption no matte what level of musician you are! All skill levels welcomed and no prior experience needed. 

In my off time, I like to run in the countryside, hike, cook go camping and watch baseball and football!

My name is Bobby Rogers is a graduate of Sonoma State University (B.A. in Music Education and Jazz Performance), Sacramento State University (M.A. in Wind Conducting) and Boston University (M.M.Ed. in Music Education).  Currently in my 4th year teaching at Woodland Community College. Rogers was formerly at Pioneer High School for 19 years teaching concert bands, jazz band, string orchestra, AP music theory, film scoring and composing, and instrument repair class. Additionally, Rogers recently completed a 13 year tenure conducting both the Santa Rosa Youth Symphony and The Santa Rosa Symphony Professional Orchestra Family Concert Series and plays professionally throughout Northern California as a clarinetist, saxophonist and flautist with Symphonic Orchestra's, Jazz ensembles, Klezmer, Funk-Horn bands, Traditional Jazz groups and Latin bands. 

He was the Region 3 finalist for California Teacher of the Year in 2009, Claus Noble Educator of Distinction in 2010 and Program of Excellence for top program in Yolo County 2015. He taught previously at Herbert Slater and Rincon Valley Middle Schools. Rogers has also taught for summer music programs at Sonoma State University, Cazadero Music Camp, Donner Mine Music Camp, Santa Rosa Symphony Summer Academy, Summer Music Camp at Stanley and a local program for students in jazz and classical styles in Woodland. He has served two terms as president for the Northern California Band Directors Association, 2009-2011 and 2013-2015. Rogers currently is the Northern California Vice President for the Music Association of California Community Colleges and adjudicates concert bands, jazz ensembles, string orchestras and solo and ensembles for California Music Educators Association and Music in the Parks Festivals. 

Rogers studied conducting with Craig Kirchhoff of the University of Minnesota, John Whitwell of Michigan State University, H. Robert Reynolds of University of Michigan and USC Thornton School of Music, Mallory Thompson of Northwestern University, Jack Stamp of Indiana State and Dr. Robert Halseth of Sacramento State University.

Throughout his career, he has been very active with pit orchestras and community orchestras, including American Philharmonic, Camellia Symphony and the Rancho Cordova Civic Light Orchestra. Rogers has twice had the opportunity to conduct at Carnegie Hall. He has also performed and recorded on clarinet, saxophone and flute with various jazz and rock groups, such as Lee Press-On and The Nails, Moonlight Swing Orchestra – a Glenn Miller Tribute Band, Placer Pops Orchestra, Jimmy Luxury, Lucas Arts, Gwen Stefani, Coolio, Third Eye Blind, Smash Mouth, Innersoul, Viva Santana Bad Cat, Death and Taxes Swing, Joe Gilman, Steinway Artist Jim Martinez and Delfayo Marsalis.
