Welcome to my home page! I'm professor Neuman and I teach English composition and literature classes at Woodland Community College, and other surrounding districts. I have been teaching since Fall 2020.
I first received an Associates in English from American River Community College in 2018, a Bachelors in English and Literature in 2020, and then a Masters in English and Creative Writing in 2022. My research interests focus on British Romanticism, specifically interested in the secularization of these texts, the influences of John Milton with an emphasis on ecocritical theory, and even more specifically the classics like: Shelley’s Frankenstein.
When I'm not in the classroom with my students, I like to spend time volunteering at the Sacramento Poetry Center, attending poetry events and learning to play acoustic guitar, watching anime or playing video games.
In my classroom, I emphasize collaborative learning and try to create a sense of community that allows students to share and learn from one another, which also leads me to learn from all of you as well. I encourage students to build confidence in embracing their own scholarly voices, and beliefs. I love community college for that reason! That we can all come together from diverse ethnic backgrounds, experiences, and ideas and then bring that into our class discussions.
I'm dedicated to helping you achieve your reading, writing, and critical thinking goals! I would love to invite you to email me with any questions you may have about any English course you are interested in taking.
