John Bovee, M.A. Adjunct Professor of Political Science

John Bovee brings over four decades of hands-on political experience to the classroom at Woodland Community College, where he teaches American Government and Politics. His extensive career spans local, state, and national politics, including serving as Chief of Staff for three California legislators and founding a successful political consulting firm.

His master's dissertation, "The Unintended Consequences of Direct Democracy in California," received Capstone with Honors distinction and has garnered over 1,000 downloads, establishing him as a respected voice in California political analysis.

Personal:

John and his wife, Joanne, live in the greater Sacramento area with their two dogs, Riley and Kenzie. Riley, the basset hound, is known to make occasional cameo appearances in class via John's lecture slides.
