Candice Stafford-Banks

I am a Professor of Agriculture, and I have called WCC home since 2017. I love bugs and plants (I am currently adicted to succulents) and I want everyone to see how awesome they are! My background is in agricultural pests and I have a Bachelors and Masters in Entomology from UC Riverside and a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from UC Davis. My research focused on insect behavior, virus-vector-plant interactions and vector management. I really enjoyed research but from the very first time that I taught, I was hooked on education. I love teaching at the community college level because I can foster a passion for scientific discovery and help students develop skills that they can immediately put to good use. I am a fierce advocate for my students and I will do anything to help a student reach their goals.
