Are you preparing to teach online? Or have you been teaching online for a while and are seeking to improve or strengthen your skills? This course will introduce you to effective practices in online instruction. While building a solid understanding of California Community College distance education policies and procedures, you will actively create an effectively designed online learning unit that maximizes student success, incorporates equitable course policies, offers engaging assessments, and more!

This is a 6-week course. We estimate it will take 8-10 hours each week to complete all learning activities, assignments, and assessments, depending on your previous Canvas and online teaching experience.

The course is facilitated and asynchronous in Canvas. While the course officially runs with an instructor July 1-August 9th, the first two weeks of the course modules will be open starting June 15th for those who register prior to that date to get early access to course materials. Submissions to discussions and assignments will begin July 1.
