Note: This is the final synchronous meeting of a 13-week professional learning inquiry specifically designed for English faculty who have preregistered. This meeting requires real time attendance via the YCCDZoom link provided to participants by the co-facilitators.
In this meeting, participants will present their praxis projects, which create practical pedagogical applications of their learning about AI and model how they will integrate this in future English courses and which will provide models for other faculty on effective implementation of responses to AI in education.
This iteration of the English Teaching Community will explore the intersection of artificial intelligence with academic research and composition. Participants will explore the possibilities and impacts of evolving tools powered by AI in the context of teaching and learning with specific emphasis on ethics, equity, and skill-building. Using the YC District’s (draft) AP on AI as a starting point, participants will redesign course policies, teaching methods, curriculum design, and/or assessment practices to align with one of the three approved strategies for AI use outlined in the AP.
