Faculty are asked to come to the meeting prepared to share the following:
First: choose 1 composition class to focus on: 1A/1E, 1B, or 1C
Second: Review the SLO of focus for that course.
Third: Come to the meeting with a summary of how you assessed and facilitated learning for the SLO.
Consider the following:
- Did you make any changes to your assessment based on the Assignment Charette Activity in January (even if you did not present)? If so, what changes did you make and why?
- When/how did you introduce the SLO to your students?
- How did you scaffold the skill(s) in this SLO?
- When and how did you assess the SLO?
- At what point(s) in the semester?
- Via which assignment(s)?
- Do you feel your approach was successful? Why? Or why not?
SLOs of Focus:
1A/1E—ANALYSIS: Upon completion of this course, students will compose a clearly-written, well-organized, purpose-driven analysis.
1C—ARGUMENTATION: Upon completion of the course, students will be able to compose a text that effectively uses elements of argumentation to support a claim.
