The YC 22-25 Equity Plan identifies a 3-year goal to: “Close equity gap between DSPS and non-DSPS attainment rate from 10% (3-year average, 2018-2021) to 3% by 2025” in the Completion of Transfer-Level Math & English.
With that goal in mind, the Spring 24 English Teaching Community will focus on creating more inclusive curriculum and classrooms, with an emphasis on DSPS students and English 1E/English 1A. Participants will be asked to reflect on their own teaching and assessment practices, explore current definitions of and data around disability and learning differences, and investigate a variety of approaches to redesigning courses and curriculum to address student needs.
In this 7th asynchronous meeting, participants will complete the activities in the Week 10-Week 12 module in the S24 English TC Canvas course. Specifically, participants will be building their individual praxis projects, projects which integrate the learning they've done throughout this TC into their own curriculum and course design.
